Engr. Romeo A. Villaceran's journey began from modest beginnings. As a young boy, he took on various odd jobs to help support his family. Growing up in a simple rural community, he harbored big dreams, which were always at the forefront of his mind, especially during his daily 10km walks to school. Seizing the opportunity, he became a working student at a local college in Cebu City. Through determination, hard work, and perseverance, he earned a degree in Civil Engineering and eventually achieved his goal of becoming a licensed civil engineer.

In 1997, he ventured into the construction business by founding his own company. Driven by a passion for challenges, he turned a small firm into one of the largest and most successful construction businesses in the province.

After achieving success in business, Engr. Villaceran transitioned to politics, bringing the same drive and commitment to public service. In 2020, he was elected as Barangay Captain of Brgy. Maalat, where he spearheaded major projects such as the beautification of the barangay, the development of Maalat Baywalk, and the construction of a new barangay hall.

As mayor, in his first and ongoing term, he has initiated and completed numerous projects that have positively impacted the municipality, furthering his commitment to the community's progress and well-being.
